Loving Our New Jogger

On Sunday, we came home from our Jacksonville/Tallahassee weekend to Ava's recently delivered BOB jogger. I was THRILLED! I've wanted a BOB for quite some time and Mark finally agreed when we got to test one out in Oregon in July. 

^ falling in love with the BOB. Definitely needing it after the visit to VooDoo donuts in Portland (so delicious) 

Anyways, once Mark was sold on it, it was only a matter of time ;) I have been wanting get moving and running rather than walking daily with Ava. 

So here we are loving our new jogger for the last two days of ownership! 

Monday 

This morning: 

Ava was eyeing my greens before we headed out

^ took Ava to go look at some fish and ducks by our clubhouse and gym. 

So there ya go! If you're in the market for a stroller that you barely have to push while you run, the BOB is worth every penny. (And holds its value if you ever want to sell it)

Ava Has A Crush

Little miss Ava has a crush on an older man. Guess she got something from me  after all! ;) Just kidding (not really)

 I can't wait to show Mark these pictures later.

Today, we went out to Weston to play with Carter (2yrs) and Kelsey (11mo) 

The big kids from school showed up at the park but it didn't bother us...

The little girls were coming over to ohhh and aaah at the babies. Too funny! 

Kelsey had a blast and even took some

steps on her own! I tell ya... Having a big brother to show you how to do things really speeds up the process. I was so impressed with little Kels! 

Carter was a cutie as usual and was super gentle with Ava (which is nice because she not used to having a sibling to play and rough her up a bit) 

It was so sweet watching Carter interact with her. I melted.

FSU vs. Maryland: Part 2

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our time in Tallahassee on Saturday:

We got to see our great friend, Ryan, from Jacksonville, FL. I actually met him about 2 weeks before Mark and I moved to Chicago for a short time. It was at a mutual friend's party that we met and started talking about his Cubs hat and how we were both moving up there shortly. I introduced him to Mark, and he was became our new friend. We were all in new, unfamiliar territory so it was nice to have a FL friend close by (who also loved the Noles- extra points!) 

We were frequently found all together at our favorite country bar up there which made us feel more at home.

We missed you, Ryan! After leaving Chicago before the cold weather rolled back in (lucky!) he moved to TX and is now a big bad firefighter. Our reunion was much needed. We hadn't seen Ryan since Aug 2009. Finally! We are very good at texts and snapchats though! Haha

Awesome job, Noles!

This was our first game in Tallahassee this Fall. Way overdue! 

We were extremely excited to head up to see our Noles and cannot thank Mark's mom enough for spending the weekend with Ava for us. (We aren't quite ready to bring her into the stadium craziness just yet... Maybe next year.)

Happy GAMEDAY!

Happy Gameday, everyone! 

Mark and I are headed to Tallahassee for the FSU v Maryland game with our good friends.

Last night we had dinner in Jacksonville with the gang :)

This is actually our first game that we are attending. Having little Ava changed our usual "attend every home game" rule. 

Back to sweet home Tallahassee we go!

Evening Strolls

One of our favorite things to do is to walk in our neighborhood. Before Ava came along, Mark and I would often pour some wine in a tervis and head out on a walk after dinner. We used this time to catch up on the day. It's so easy to just come home, eat, and plop down in front of the tv the rest of the night. 

This was our way of not doing that and spending quality time together. Mark has always been a chatterbox (and I say that in a loving way!) which is great for me because I just listen to him talk about his entire day and every detail about it.

Now, our conversations still consist of work overview for him, Ava updates from that day from me, and fun things that are happening with our friends and family: Engagements, weddings, babies on the way, trips, football events etc.

I don't want Ava thinking one day that I didn't like pushing her around because there are only a million pictures of just Mark pushing her around... She needs to know that her dad always took the stroller pushing privileges away from me every chance he got. (And I let him because I get it every day while he is at work.) 

Ava got antsy in her stroller. She secretly knows that her daddy will rescue her and throw her up on his shoulders. She loves it. Ava loves walks when dad is around...

(And on Saturdays, Mark lets me sleep in late while he takes Ava on her 9AM stroll after he giving her her breakfast. Then, he comes home and cooks a big breakfast for us while we watch College Gameday on ESPN. I have a great hubby!  ;) 

Taking these walks are one of the best things we do as a couple and as a family.  It's important to us to have time to talk and "check in" with one another. This is also a  great way to do that with a happy and entertained Ava. 

Tomorrow I'll be taking Ava to the mall to do some shopping :) 

Happy Oct. 1st! 

This month has already brought really exciting news.  More to come on that topic later... :)
