Snapshots of Today 9.30.13

Today, Ava and I met up with my mom and my old neighbor and friend, Sarah. We hung out at the pool for a few hours and Ava had a blast. She had her cute bathing suit and hat on but of course we didn't take some pictures until after we dried off.

I made Ava a play area to sit in the shade and play with her toys.

Having fun outdoors.

Chewing on anything she can find at all times. She's like a puppy, I swear!

Lately I have been wanting to jog more and more. (Weird, right?)
I finally did it and ordered the BOB for Ava this morning! Woohoo. I am pretty excited for it to be delivered. This is like a tank on wheels for babies. It's like driving a Cadillac off road. I had the chance to borrow one when we went to Oregon. I fell in love with it. Thanks, hubby!

And tonight... I had dinner plans with my mom, a full DVR, and some wine. It is the end of the month so that = Mark working super late. :( boo.

Here is to Monday being almost over and one day closer to this weekend! Mark and I will be heading to Jacksonville and then to Tallahassee with our friends for the FSU v Maryland game.

"Mombie"

Today has been a little interesting... Not really but it was a bit confusing and exhausting this morning.

Ava would not take her usual morning nap today and was just cranky all morning. My usual happy and content baby was just making noise all morning - not necessarily crying the whole time...just bored/irritated sounding noises.
It made me feel lost- like I didn't know what I was doing. As a first time mom, this feeling stinks. It's not always like that (thank goodness) but from time to time your baby knows how to make you feel clueless.

She was just having a rough morning I guess...
I get it, the poor little thing can't have coffee yet- I'd be crabby too.

So now that she is napping and looks so peaceful and adorable haha I made myself laugh while reading these...

Enjoy, fellow mamas!

But remember...

It's all VERY worth it :)

Now go call your mom (or whoever raised you) and tell them you love them!

Enjoy the rest of the day and know that we are all in it {together}, mamas!

And Now I'm going to have some afternoon coffee with {my} mom outside on the rocking chairs while Ava naps.  Grateful to have her so close by.

Ava's 1st Halloween Costume

Help.

This year will be Ava's first Halloween! She was born on Nov 2nd so she just missed it last year! I am actually kind of happy that she did because her first one will be a pretty active one now that she is a super fast crawler- or maybe she'll even be standing/walking by then!

I've been looking at some baby-toddler costume ideas out there and can't decide whether to go on a traditional "spooky" costume for her or something cute and pretty. I'm learning for something funny and spooky :)

Any thoughts ?

Reminds me of my friends...We love Pirates!

Another excuse for a tutu

Pumpkin Latte for mommy?!

Seminole? I can totally make this one happen {and} have a better spending limit haha (because you know Mark will be on board with this one!)

"Baby...on the loose!" "Like a bullet!" We love that commercial. I think it's Xfinity - where the turtles are new parents... Anyways, would be cute for her crawling stage.

Any good ideas out there?

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday.

Our Saturday Afternoon

I noticed that I haven't written a blog post in about a month now. To be honest, I don't really know what to write about these days...

Other than Mark working back in the Miami office as the branch's Sales Director, not a lot of news. We are all doing well and excited that the Fall is here!  We will be trying to make it up to the FSU v Maryland game in Tallahassee in 2 weeks. Hopefully we can make it and see some good friends up there.

Ava updates: she is a super fast crawler, she had her first fall the other week which turned out to be nothing (just a swollen lip), and she just learned how to wave "bye bye." She is at a really cute age right now that I want to bottle up and keep forever. She does these little things like tap my face and when I make a funny noise saying "no no no!" she just laughs and does it again... And again and again. Laughing the whole time.  How can you not love that?! ;)

As far as today goes, it was one of those really great afternoons- simple yet fun :) I wanted us to get out, get some sun, and walk around before the FSU game started later. Mark took us down down to Dania pier to see where the new Quarterdeck is- looks great!!! Great job, Flanigan family!

After that, we headed down to the Hollywood boardwalk to stroll and grab some drinks and fish tacos down there. I think we found a new beach spot.

We really liked how many restaurants and bars with live music were {right next} to the ocean. (Plus, parking was super easy!)

Cruisin' with "Bayba"

Everyone got a kick out of her sunglasses. (Our daughter's favorite thing is: sunglasses! Usually she LOVES to chew on them more than any toy she has. (I usually always keep 1 or 2 pairs in my purse for her)
Today she appreciated them a lot more in the sunshine and actually left them on.

At the "Taco Spot" eating some lunch

Entertained by chewing on her velcro toy strap while mama ate lunch. Such a good baby. Always content.

I foresee bringing our FSU tent down here and spending the day in the near future.

Now to head home where A will have a long nap and we will watch the FSU game at 6! Go Noles.
